गुरुशुश्रूषया शूरा: पितृशुश्रूषयापरे | मातृशुश्रूषया शूरा भैक्ष्यशूरास्तथापरे
bhīṣma uvāca |
guruśuśrūṣayā śūrāḥ pitṛśuśrūṣayāpare |
mātṛśuśrūṣayā śūrā bhaiṣyaśūrās tathāpare ||
毗湿摩说道：“有人因恭敬奉事师长（guru）而被称为英雄；有人因奉事其父而得此名。有人以奉养其母显其勇德；又有人以乞食度日而被称为‘英雄’。由此可知，英雄之道不唯在战场，亦在守戒尽责、克己自持的种种行持之中。”
