Nṛga-upākhyāna: Brāhmaṇa-sva and the Consequence of Misappropriated Gift-Cattle (कृकलास-रूपे नृगोपाख्यानम्)
प्राणा वै प्राणिनामेते प्रोच्यन्ते भरतर्षभ । तस्माद् ददाति यो थेनुं प्राणानेष प्रयच्छति
prāṇā vai prāṇinām ete procyante bharatarṣabha | tasmād dadāti yo dhenuṁ prāṇān eṣa prayacchati ||
毗湿摩说道：“噢，婆罗多族中的雄牛啊，这些母牛被称为众生的‘生命之息’，因为它们以乳养他者而维系生命。因此，凡以施舍之心布施一头乳牛者，实乃奉献了生命之礼。”
