भरणीषु द्विजातिभ्यस्तिलधेनु प्रदाय वै । गा: सुप्रभूता: प्राप्नोति नर: प्रेत्य यशस्तथा
bharaṇīṣu dvijātibhyas tiladhenuṃ pradāya vai | gāḥ suprabhūtāḥ prāpnoti naraḥ pretya yaśas tathā ||
那罗陀说道:“在月宿‘婆罗尼’(Bharaṇī)之时,若有人向二次生者(尤指婆罗门)施与‘芝麻之牛’——以芝麻制成的仪式性供施——则其人在此世得众多牛群;死后亦得大名声。”
नारद उवाच
The verse teaches that properly directed charity (dāna)—here, gifting a tiladhenu to the dvija community at an auspicious time (Bharaṇī)—yields dual fruits: worldly prosperity (abundant cattle) and posthumous moral fame (yaśas).
Nārada is enumerating the merits of specific gifts tied to particular nakṣatras. In this entry, he states the reward for giving a tiladhenu to dvijas when the Bharaṇī nakṣatra is operative.
