Daiva–Puruṣakāra Inquiry: Fate and Human Effort
पुरा ययातिर्वि भ्रष्टक्ष्यावित: पतित: क्षितौ । पुनरारोपित: स्वर्ग दौहित्रै: पुण्यकर्मभि:
purā yayātir vi-bhraṣṭa-kṣayāvitaḥ patitaḥ kṣitau | punar āropitaḥ svargaṁ dauhitraiḥ puṇya-karmabhiḥ ||
毗湿摩说道：“久远以前，耶耶提王福德耗尽，便从天界坠落，落于大地。后来，凭借其孙辈所行的正法善业，他又被重新举起，复归天界——这表明积累的福德亦会衰减，而孝敬后裔的功德能成为维系与扶持。”
