Cyavana’s Yogic Display and Kuśika’s Recognition of Tapas (च्यवन-योगप्रभावः कुशिकस्य तपःप्रशंसा च)
समाप्तदीक्षश्ष्यवनस्ततोडगच्छत् स्वमाश्रमम् | गविजश्न महातेजा: स्वमाश्रमपर्द ययौ
samāptadīkṣaś cyavanas tato ’gacchat svam āśramam | gaviṣṭho mahātejāḥ svam āśramapadaṁ yayau ||
毗湿摩说道:“当圣者遮婆那(Cyavana)的灌顶誓行(dīkṣā)圆满之时,他便回到自己的林苑精舍。其后,光辉炽盛的圣者伽毗什吒(Gaviṣṭha,亦名Gojāta)也返回了自己的精舍。”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse underscores the dharmic ideal of disciplined observance: once a vowed rite (dīkṣā) is properly completed, the ascetic returns to his rightful station (āśrama), emphasizing order, restraint, and fidelity to prescribed duties.
Bhīṣma narrates a transition: Cyavana finishes his consecrated observance and goes back to his hermitage; afterward another illustrious sage, Gaviṣṭha (also referred to as Gojāta), likewise departs for his own hermitage.
