Cyavana’s Yogic Display and Kuśika’s Recognition of Tapas (च्यवन-योगप्रभावः कुशिकस्य तपःप्रशंसा च)
कीर्तन श्रवर्णं दान॑ दर्शनं चापि पार्थिव | गवां प्रशस्यते वीर सर्वपापहरं शिवम्
kīrtanaśravaṇaṁ dānaṁ darśanaṁ cāpi pārthiva | gavāṁ praśasyate vīra sarvapāpaharaṁ śivam ||
大王、勇士啊,经论极力称赞与牛有关的这些行为:称颂牛之名与德,聆听此等赞颂,施舍牛为布施,乃至瞻视牛身。诸事皆被宣说为吉祥,能除尽一切罪垢,引人趋向至上的福祉。
व्यवन उवाच
The verse teaches that devotional and ethical engagement with cows—praising them, hearing such praise, donating them, and even taking their auspicious sight—is considered highly meritorious and is said to remove sin and promote spiritual welfare.
A speaker addresses a king/hero and, in the didactic tone typical of the Anuśāsana Parva, enumerates scripturally praised practices connected with cows, presenting them as powerful means of purification and auspiciousness.
