毗湿摩说道:“即便是那两类儿子,权威的结论亦是:当如己子一般,为其施行萨姆斯迦罗(saṃskāra)。诚然,无论是kṣetraja(‘田生子’)、apasada(名分混杂或不正之子),还是avadhyūḍha(由特殊婚姻安排而收纳者),诸论典(śāstra)皆命其受应受之礼。关于与varṇa相关的仪礼,法典(dharma-śāstra)所见之裁定正是如此。我已尽告于你;你还想听什么?”
भीष्म उवाच
That dharmaśāstra recognizes certain categories of sons (including kṣetraja, apasada, and avadhyūḍha) and, despite their differing origins or social classification, enjoins that they receive the appropriate saṃskāras—rites that confer social-religious standing and duties—treating them, for ritual purposes, like one’s own.
In Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma is instructing Yudhiṣṭhira on dharma. Here he concludes a discussion on classifications of offspring and their eligibility for rites, stating the śāstric determination and asking what further topic the listener wishes to hear.
