Ānṛśaṃsya–Bhakti: Śukaḥ Śakreṇa Parīkṣitaḥ
Compassion and Devotion—The Parrot Tested by Indra
athavā nātra citra hi abhavad vāsavasya tu | prāṇinām api sarveṣāṁ sarvaṁ sarvatra dṛśyate ||
The verse teaches a sober, ethical realism: in the world of living beings, all kinds of behaviors and events occur everywhere, so one should not be shaken by surprise but cultivate steadiness and calm discernment.
Bhishma explains that Indra (Vāsava) should not regard the situation as extraordinary; recognizing that such things are commonly seen among beings everywhere brings Indra’s mind back to peace.
