Strī-satkāra (On honoring women) — Mahābhārata 13.46
कुर्वाणं हि नरं कर्म पापं रहसि सर्वदा | पश्यन्ति ऋतवश्वापि तथा दिननिशे<प्युत,एकान्तमें पापकर्म करते हुए पुरुषको ऋतुएँ तथा रात-दिन सदा देखते रहते हैं
kurvāṇaṃ hi naraṃ karma pāpaṃ rahasi sarvadā | paśyanti ṛtavaś cāpi tathā dinaniśe 'py uta ||
毗补罗说道:即便有人在隐秘处作恶,他也从未真正无人见证——四时更迭,昼与夜,皆不断为证。此教诲表明,道德的追责无可逃避:隐藏的恶行,仍在时间与世界的秩序之前昭然。
विपुल उवाच
No sinful act remains truly hidden; time itself—symbolized by the seasons and by day and night—stands as a constant witness, urging inner restraint and ethical integrity even in solitude.
Vipula is instructing about moral vigilance, stating that a person who commits wrongdoing in secrecy is still observed by the ever-present cycles of nature and time, reinforcing the inevitability of accountability.
