Strī-satkāra (On honoring women) — Mahābhārata 13.46
तेनैकेन तु रक्षा वै विपुलेन कृता स्त्रिया: । नान्य: शक्तस्त्रिलोकेडस्मिन् रक्षितुं नूप योषितम्
tenaikena tu rakṣā vai vipulena kṛtā striyaḥ | nānyaḥ śaktaḥ triloke 'smin rakṣituṃ nūpa yoṣitam, nareśvara ||
毗补罗说道:“确然,唯有那一人——毗补罗一人——护持了诸女。噢,大王!在这三界之中,再无他人能以如此方式守护年轻女子。”
विपुल उवाच
The verse highlights dharma as protective responsibility: true capability is shown not by power over others but by the disciplined ability to safeguard the vulnerable—here, the ethical guarding of young women—something presented as rare even across the three worlds.
Vipula is speaking to a king, asserting that the protection of the women was accomplished solely by Vipula, and emphasizing that no other person in the three worlds could have protected young women in the same exceptional way.
