भीष्म उवाच इत्युक्तो विपुलस्तेन तपस्वी नियतेन्द्रिय:

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca | ity ukto vipulas tena tapasvī niyatendriyaḥ |

Translation

毗湿摩说道：他如此说罢，毗补罗——一位克制诸根的苦行者——便答道“谨遵教命”，领受了训诫。他光辉如火如日，恒常安住于严峻苦行，通达法义而言行真实，遂依从师命。随后，当师长将要启程之时，毗补罗又以如下方式再度发问。
