Vipula’s Yogic Protection of the Guru’s Household (विपुलस्य योगरक्षा / Vipulasya Yogarakṣā)
स्त्रियं हि यः प्रार्थयते संनिकर्ष च गच्छति । ईषच्च कुरुते सेवां तमेवेच्छन्ति योषित:
striyaṁ hi yaḥ prārthayate sannikarṣaṁ ca gacchati | īṣac ca kurute sevāṁ tam evēcchanti yoṣitaḥ ||
毗湿摩说道:凡男子求慕女子,近身相就,并施以些微侍奉者——女子们便唯独倾心于此人。

Affection is often influenced by deliberate approach: seeking, drawing near, and offering even small acts of service can generate attachment. Ethically, it highlights the power of attention and conduct in shaping relationships, and implicitly cautions that such influence should be exercised with restraint and propriety.
In Anushasana Parva, Bhishma is instructing on norms of conduct and practical wisdom. Here he states a general observation about how women’s desire may be won through proximity and modest service, as part of broader counsel on social behavior.
