On Those Worthy of Honor and Salutation

उसे गिरते देख सम्पूर्ण भूतोंके हितमें तत्पर रहनेवाले वर देनेमें समर्थ इन्द्रने दौड़कर पकड़ लिया ।।

Transliteration

śakra uvāca | mataṅga brāhmaṇatvaṃ te viruddham iha dṛśyate | brāhmaṇyaṃ durlabhataraṃ saṃvṛtaṃ paripanthibhiḥ ||

Translation

因陀罗具足赐福之力，且恒为一切众生之利而勤行；见摩唐伽将坠，便疾驰而前，伸手扶住。释迦（因陀罗）说道：“摩唐伽啊，就在此生之中，你获得婆罗门之位，看来已被阻断。婆罗门之性极其难得，而通往其道又被欲与嗔等拦路之盗所围困，处处障碍。”
