Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities
पाण्डवास्तुष्टवुः सर्वे प्रणेमुश्न मुहुर्मुहुः । उन महाभाग मुनियोंके अदृश्य हो जानेपर भी समस्त पाण्डव बारंबार उनकी स्तुति और उन्हें प्रणाम करते रहे ।। १३ $ ।। प्रसन्नमनस: सर्वे गाज़ेयं कुरुसत्तमम्
Vaiśampāyana uvāca | Pāṇḍavās tuṣṭuvuḥ sarve praṇemuś ca muhur muhuḥ | Teṣāṃ mahābhāga-munīnāṃ adṛśya-bhāve 'pi sarve Pāṇḍavāḥ punaḥ punaḥ stutiṃ cakruḥ praṇāmaṃ ca ||
毗舍波耶那说:般度五子皆怀至诚敬仰,反复赞颂那些大德圣仙,并一再俯首礼拜。纵使诸位光辉的苦行者已从视野中隐没,般度五子仍不止息地致敬——表明真正的尊崇不系于形体在场,而系于坚定的感恩与合乎达摩的谦恭。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic humility and gratitude: reverence for the wise should be steady and sincere, not merely performative or dependent on their physical presence. Continuing praise and salutations even after the sages are no longer visible models enduring respect for spiritual authority and benefactors.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that the Pāṇḍavas repeatedly praise and bow to the great sages. Even after those munis disappear from sight, the Pāṇḍavas continue offering stuti and praṇāma, emphasizing their devotion and disciplined conduct.
