Mataṅga–Gardabhī Itihāsa
काम॑ क्रोधं च लोभं च यो जित्वा तीर्थमावसेत् । न तेन किज्विन्न प्राप्त तीर्थाभिगमनाद् भवेत्
kāmaṁ krodhaṁ ca lobhaṁ ca yo jitvā tīrtham āvaset | na tena kiñcid aprāptaṁ tīrthābhigamanād bhavet ||
凡能降伏欲、怒、贪,而后安住于圣渡处(tīrtha)者,方得朝圣之真果:凭借巡礼圣地所生之功德,于此人无有不可得之事。
अजड्रिय उवाच
Pilgrimage bears its highest fruit when one has first mastered the inner foes—desire, anger, and greed. External sacred travel is presented as truly efficacious only when supported by inner discipline and moral restraint.
