पृथक् चैव तथा सुप्तौ सा स्त्री स च मुनिस्तदा । तथार्धात्रे सा स्त्री तु शयनं तदुपागमत्,उस समय वह स्त्री और मुनि दोनों अलग-अलग सो गये। जब आधी रात हुई तब वह स्त्री उठकर मुनिकी शय्यापर आ बैठी
pṛthak caiva tathā suptau sā strī sa ca munis tadā | tathārdharātre sā strī tu śayanaṃ tad upāgamat ||
毗湿摩说道：当时那女子与仙人各自分榻而眠。及至子夜，那女子起身走近那张床，竟坐上了仙人的榻——此举由此铺陈出一场关于克制、礼法与护持法（dharma）的道德考验。
