Anuśāsana-parva 17
ब्रह्मलोकादयं स्वर्गे स््तवराजो5वतारित: । यतस्तण्डि: पुरा प्राप तेन तण्डिकृतो$भवत्
Brahmalokād ayaṁ svarge stavarājo ’vatāritaḥ | yatas Taṇḍiḥ purā prāpa tena Taṇḍikṛto ’bhavat ||
风神伐由说道:“这‘赞歌之王’自梵天界传降至天界。由于圣者檀荼(Taṇḍi)在远古曾得此文,它便被称作‘檀荼之赞’。”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse emphasizes the sanctity and authority of a devotional hymn by tracing its transmission from a higher divine realm (Brahmaloka) to heaven, and by preserving its lineage through the sage Taṇḍi—suggesting that true praise and sacred knowledge are validated by their pure origin and faithful transmission.
Vāyu identifies a particular stotra as the ‘king of hymns’ and explains its provenance: it was brought down from Brahmaloka to Svarga, and because the sage Taṇḍi once received it, the hymn became associated with him and was known as Taṇḍi’s.
