अमानी मानदो मान्यो लोकस्वामी त्रिलोकधृक् । सुमेधा मेधजो धन्य: सत्यमेधा धराधर:
amānī mānado mānyo lokasvāmī trilokadhṛk | sumedhā medhajo dhanyaḥ satyamedhā dharādharaḥ ||
毗湿摩说道:“祂不自求尊荣,却能赐人以荣;祂堪受敬礼。祂为诸世之主,荷持三界。祂具殊胜慧,现于祭祀;恒常吉祥,值得感戴;其智真实而高贵;祂又擎持大地——故以此等名号赞颂至上者。”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse praises the ideal of divine and ethical greatness: true supremacy is marked by humility (not craving honor) while actively honoring others, and by sustaining the world through wisdom, truth, and righteous order.
In Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma instructs and extols the Supreme through a sequence of divine names/epithets (as in the Viṣṇu-sahasranāma context), explaining qualities of the Lord who governs and upholds the cosmos and is present in sacrificial worship.
