Bhīṣma’s Yogic Departure, Royal Cremation, and Gaṅgā’s Lament (भीष्मस्य योगयुक्त्या देहत्यागः, पितृमेधः, गङ्गाविलापः)

भवांक्षाप्यार्जवपर: पूर्व कृत्वा प्रतिश्रयम्‌ । राजवृत्तं न लभते प्रतिज्ञापालने रत:

bhavān kṣāpya ārjavaparaḥ pūrvaṃ kṛtvā pratiśrayam | rājavṛttaṃ na labhate pratijñāpālane rataḥ, yudhiṣṭhira |

毗湿摩说道:“尤提士提罗啊,正因为你极其坦率,笃守正直,所以你早先便投依于世尊婆苏提婆。如今你一心守誓,却不肯采用那些被认为合乎王道、适于王者的行事与权宜之策。”
