Bhīṣma’s Yogic Departure, Royal Cremation, and Gaṅgā’s Lament
atha ṛṣayaḥ samprahṛṣṭāḥ punas te kṛṣṇam abruvan | punaḥ punaḥ darśayāsmān sadaiva madhusūdana ||
The verse presents continual darśana—repeated turning toward and seeking the Lord’s presence—as the highest aspiration of the wise. Joy culminates not in possession or power but in sustained contact with the Divine, which supports dharmic living through remembrance, humility, and devotion.
Nārada narrates that the assembled sages, delighted, address Kṛṣṇa once more and request that He continue to grant them His vision repeatedly and always, expressing their longing for ongoing divine presence.
