Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
वेदव्यासश्न योगात्मा पराशरसुतो मुनि:
vedavyāsaś ca yogātmā parāśarasuto muniḥ
婆苏提婆说道:“还有毗耶娑——具瑜伽之性、为波罗沙罗之子的大牟尼。”
वासुदेव उवाच
The verse foregrounds Vyāsa’s spiritual authority by identifying him through yogic attainment (yogātmā) and revered lineage (son of Parāśara). In ethical discourse, such identification signals that the guidance being invoked rests on disciplined realization and trustworthy tradition.
Vāsudeva is referring to Vedavyāsa, describing him with honorific epithets—‘yogātmā’ and ‘Parāśara’s son’—as part of a larger passage that invokes or situates authoritative sages within the instruction of Anuśāsana (ethical governance and dharma).
