Nārāyaṇa-tejas: Kṛṣṇa’s Vrata, the Fire-Manifestation, and the Sages’ Inquiry

Bhishma teaches that the foremost householder ethic is reciprocal care: when a husband supports and cherishes his wife and the wife is content with and supportive of her husband, the entire family becomes a seat of kalyāṇa (welfare and auspiciousness).
Bhishma addresses the sage Maitreya, praises his virtues and discipline, assures him of hospitality, and then introduces a key instruction on gṛhastha-dharma, culminating in a maxim about marital harmony as the foundation of a flourishing household.
