Praise of the ‘Mental Tīrtha’ and the Marks of Purity
aśrīṇor marutāṃ caiva sukheṣv abhirataḥ sadā | anabhiśajñiś ca duḥkhānāṃ vimānavaram āsthitaḥ ||
The verse highlights the idea that sustained enjoyment and freedom from suffering are portrayed as outcomes of divine protection and accumulated merit, symbolized by association with the Maruts and ascent to a splendid vimāna.
Bhīṣma describes a figure who lives continually in comfort, untouched by sorrow, and then mounts a superior celestial vehicle—an image commonly used to indicate exalted status or heavenly transition.
