Educational Q&A

The verse defines the ethical profile of an ideal muni: steady self-restraint, victory over anger, and mastery over bodily appetites—especially hunger and sexual impulse—so that conduct remains consistently dharmic.

In Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma continues instructing Yudhiṣṭhira on dharma. Here he briefly lists key inner disciplines that characterize a true sage, emphasizing control of anger and the senses.
