Sustained, disciplined observance of a vow (trirātra) over a long period is presented as a powerful form of tapas that yields elevated spiritual status—here, pure and uncontested authority among Śiva’s attendants—emphasizing perseverance, purity, and devotion.
Aṅgiras is describing the fruit (phala) of a specific long-term religious observance: performing a three-night vow every month for twelve years results in attaining spotless, rival-free leadership over Śiva’s gaṇas.
