Śama-prāptiḥ — Gautamī–Lubdhaka–Pannaga–Mṛtyu–Kāla-saṃvāda
Restraint through the Analysis of Karma and Time
yadanena kṛtaṃ karma tenāyaṃ nidhanaṃ gataḥ | vināśahetuḥ karmāsya sarve karmavaśā vayam ||
The verse asserts moral causality: one’s own actions (karma) become the direct cause of one’s ruin or well-being, and even beings who appear powerful are bound by the law of karma.
Kāla (personified Time/Death) explains the death of a person as the consequence of that person’s own prior deed, emphasizing that the event is not arbitrary but rooted in karmic causation.
