Restraint through the Analysis of Karma and Time
dhiṅ mṛtyuṁ ca durātmānaṁ krūraṁ duḥkhakaraṁ satām | tvāṁ caivāhaṁ vadhiṣyāmi pāpaṁ pāpasya kāraṇam ||
The verse dramatizes moral outrage at suffering inflicted upon the virtuous: cruelty and the forces that occasion wrongdoing are condemned, and the speaker frames his intended violence as retribution against a perceived source of sin—raising the ethical tension between righteous indignation and retaliatory harm.
The hunter (लुब्धक) denounces Death as cruel and harmful to the good, then turns to address another party as the cause of the sinful situation and vows to kill that ‘sinful one,’ expressing a resolve for violent reprisal.
