ततश्न धृतराष्ट्रेण व्याजेन वारणावतमनुप्रेषिता गमनमरोचयन्,इसके बाद धृतराष्ट्रने किसी बहानेसे पाण्डवोंको जब वारणावत नगरमें जानेके लिये प्रेरित किया, तब उन्होंने वहाँसे जाना स्वीकार कर लिया
tataś ca dhṛtarāṣṭreṇa vyājena vāraṇāvatam anupreritā gamanam arocayan
随后,持国王借口一事,催促般度五子前往瓦罗那瓦塔城;他们便同意启程——表面顺从,实则掩藏着被欺诈之谋所驱使的道义紧张。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical danger of vyāja (pretext) in governance: power can be exercised through seemingly reasonable proposals that conceal harmful intent. It also shows how the righteous may sometimes comply outwardly with authority while remaining alert to underlying adharma.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Dhṛtarāṣṭra, using a plausible excuse, encourages the Pāṇḍavas to go to Vāraṇāvata. The Pāṇḍavas accept the departure, setting the stage for the ensuing intrigue connected with their stay there.
