Garuḍa–Śakra Saṃvāda and the Retrieval of Amṛta (गरुड–शक्र संवादः अमृत-अपहरण-प्रसङ्गः)
लोकसंलोडडनं घोर कृतान्तसमदर्शनम् | तमागतमभिप्रेक्ष्य भगवान् कश्यपस्तदा । विदित्वा चास्य संकल्पमिदं वचनमत्रवीत्,वे समस्त संसारको भयसे कम्पित किये देते थे। उनकी मूर्ति बड़ी भयंकर थी। वे साक्षात् यमराजके समान दिखायी देते थे। उन्हें आया देख उस समय भगवान् कश्यपने उनका संकल्प जानकर इस प्रकार कहा
lokasaṁloḍḍanaṁ ghoraṁ kṛtāntasamadārśanam | tam āgatam abhiprekṣya bhagavān kaśyapas tadā | viditvā cāsya saṅkalpam idaṁ vacanam abravīt ||
他气势骇人,足以震动整个世界,宛如死神阎摩(Yama)亲临。见他到来,德高的迦叶波(Kaśyapa)洞察其心中所怀之意,便以如下言辞相告——为劝诫之始,旨在遏止毁灭的决意,引导其力量归于正法之行。
रौहिण उवाच
The verse frames a moral moment: immense, fear-inducing power must be met with discernment and guidance. Kaśyapa’s ability to read the visitor’s intention highlights the dharmic ideal that wisdom restrains destructive impulses and channels strength toward rightful ends.
A terrifying figure arrives, described as world-shaking and resembling Yama. Kaśyapa sees him, understands his inner resolve, and begins to speak—introducing a forthcoming exchange where the sage responds to the visitor’s purpose.
