त्वयाग्नौ ते परीताश्ष स्वयं हि मम संनिधौ । प्रतिश्रुतं तथा चेति ज्वलनेन महात्मना,“मेरे पास ही तुमने अग्निदेवको स्वयं अपने पुत्र सौंपे थे और उन महात्मा अग्निने भी उनकी रक्षाके लिये प्रतिज्ञा की थी
tvayāgnau te parītāś ca svayaṁ hi mama saṁnidhau | pratiśrutaṁ tathā ceti jvalanena mahātmanā ||
毗湿摩波耶那说道:“就在我面前,你亲自把那些儿子托付给火神阿耆尼;而那位大心的火之主也立誓应允护佑他们。因此,此诺言既当众许下,便为约束之誓,不可废弃。”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A pledge made openly before a witness—especially involving a divine guardian—creates a strong ethical obligation (dharma) to honor one’s word and uphold entrusted protection.
Vaiśampāyana recalls that, in his presence, someone entrusted certain sons to Agni, and Agni in turn promised to protect them—invoking the authority of witnessed vows to affirm responsibility and accountability.
