दहन्ति सर्वभूतानि त्वत्तो निष्क्रम्य हेतय: । जातवेदस्त्वयैवेदं विश्व सृष्ट महाद्युते
dahanti sarvabhūtāni tvatto niṣkramya hetayaḥ | jātavedas tvayaivedaṃ viśvaṃ sṛṣṭaṃ mahādyute ||
曼陀波罗说道:“从你之中迸发出炽烈如矢的火焰,焚烧一切有情。噢,阇多吠陀(Jātavedas),噢,大辉光者——唯由你,此整个宇宙得以生成。”
मन्दपाल उवाच
The verse frames Agni as a cosmic principle: the same divine fire that can annihilate beings at dissolution also stands behind the universe’s origination. Ethically, it urges reverence and humility before power that must be approached through praise and right intent.
Mandapāla addresses Agni (Jātavedas) in a laudatory appeal, acknowledging Agni’s overwhelming destructive capacity and his role as the source of creation—language typical of a supplication meant to gain divine favor or avert harm.
