यच्च त्वं मन्यसे प्राप्तं तद् ब्रवीहि सुयोधन । राधेय मन्यसे यच्च प्राप्तकालं वदाशु मे,सुयोधन और कर्ण! तुम दोनों समयके अनुसार जो कार्य करना आवश्यक समझते हो वह शीघ्र मुझे बताओ
yac ca tvaṃ manyase prāptaṃ tad bravīhi suyodhana | rādheya manyase yac ca prāptakālaṃ vadāśu me ||
持国王说道:“苏由陀那,你且告诉我,你认为眼下出现的局势中,何为应行之策。你也一样,罗陀耶(迦尔纳)——速速告诉我,你以为何事当其时、且必须去做。”
धृतराष्ट उवाच
The verse highlights the importance of kāla (timing) and deliberation in governance: a ruler seeks counsel on what is both right for the present situation (prāptam) and appropriate to the moment (prāptakālam), implying that ethical and practical judgment must be aligned with circumstances.
Dhṛtarāṣṭra addresses Duryodhana (Suyodhana) and Karna (Rādheya), urging them to state promptly what they believe should be done given the situation at hand—framing a moment of consultation where impending action is being weighed.
