द्रौपदी-वरण-प्रत्ययः — Intelligence Reports and the Kaurava Court’s Response
कामश्न यो5सौ द्रुपदस्य राज्ञ: स चापि सम्पत्स्यति पार्थिवस्य । सम्प्राप्यरूपां हि नरेन्द्रकन्या- मिमामहं ब्राह्मण साधु मन्ये,“ब्राह्मण! राजा द्रपदकी जो पहलेकी अभिलाषा है, वह भी पूरी होगी। इस राजकन्याको हम सर्वथा ग्रहण करनेयोग्य एवं उत्तम मानते हैं
Dhṛṣṭadyumna uvāca |
kāmaś ca yo 'sau drupadasya rājñaḥ sa cāpi sampatsyati pārthivasya |
samprāpya rūpāṃ hi narendrakanyām imām ahaṃ brāhmaṇa sādhu manye ||
德里什塔杜尤姆那说道:“婆罗门啊,德鲁帕达王久藏于心的夙愿必将实现,国王的谋愿也将圆满。既已得此出自王族、以美貌与德行闻名的公主,我断定此婚配全然相称,且大为吉祥。”
धृष्टह्ुम्न उवाच
The verse frames marriage as a dharmic and socially sanctioned act when it fulfills rightful intentions and is judged ‘sādhu’ (proper) by responsible guardians—highlighting the ethical dimension of consent, suitability, and auspicious alignment in royal alliances.
Dhṛṣṭadyumna declares to a Brāhmaṇa that King Drupada’s long-held aim will be realized through obtaining the princess (Draupadī), and he affirms that accepting her is fitting and commendable.
