Pāṇḍu’s Marriages, Conquests, and Triumphal Return (पाण्डोर्विवाह-विजय-प्रत्यागमनम्)
सत्यवादी शमपरस्तपस्वी दग्धकिल्बिष: । समुत्पन्न: स तु महान् सह पित्रा ततो गतः,“वे सत्यवादी, शान्त, तपस्वी और पापशान्य हैं। वे उत्पन्न होते ही बड़े होकर उस द्वीपसे अपने पिताके साथ चले गये थे
satyavādī śamaparaḥ tapasvī dagdhakilbiṣaḥ | samutpannaḥ sa tu mahān saha pitrā tato gataḥ ||
毗湿摩波罗耶那说道:他言必真实,心归寂静,苦行坚定,诸罪业皆已焚尽。且既一出世,便迅速长成伟大之人,随后与其父一同离开了那地方。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse praises ethical and spiritual virtues—truthfulness, tranquility, and austerity—and presents them as purifying forces that burn away moral taint (kilbiṣa), leading to greatness and worthy conduct.
Vaiśampāyana describes a virtuous figure characterized by truth, calm, and ascetic discipline; having arisen and become great, he departs together with his father from that place.
