他以一千个神圣名号——以“婆婆(Bhava)”为首——礼敬大天(Mahādeva)、至高大主;每诵一名,便供奉一朵莲花,如是以虔敬崇拜商羯罗(Śaṅkara)。
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It presents a disciplined puja-vidhi where Shiva is honored through sahasranāma-recitation and a one-to-one offering (one lotus per name), showing that nāma (sacred name) and arghya/upacāra (offering) together become a complete act of Linga-centered devotion.
Shiva is addressed as Maheśvara and Śaṅkara—the Pati (Lord) who transcends and yet receives devotion—indicating the Supreme, beneficent ruler whose many names reveal His limitless powers while remaining one reality.
Sahasranāma-japa integrated with padma-offering (pratināma padma-pūjā) is highlighted—an act combining mantra-discipline, focused attention, and devotional upacāra, supportive of Pāśupata-oriented inner purification.
