以虔敬安立(湿婆林伽)之后,我将宣说由此生起的果报——那正是从一切祭祀、苦行、布施、朝圣圣地与礼敬诸天所获得的同等功德。
Suta Goswami (narrating the Linga Purana teaching to the sages at Naimisharanya; conveying the phala-śruti of liṅga-pratiṣṭhā)
It states that installing the Śiva-liṅga with sincere bhakti yields merit equal to the combined fruits of yajña, tapas, dāna, tīrtha-yātrā, and deva-pūjā—thereby elevating liṅga-pratiṣṭhā as a supreme Shaiva practice.
By equating liṅga-pratiṣṭhā’s fruit with all other sacred acts, it implies Śiva as Pati—the highest refuge and the inner ground of all dharmic merits—through whom the pashu can move beyond pasha (bondage) by devotion-centered worship.
The highlighted practice is bhakti-based liṅga-pratiṣṭhā (installation/consecration). As a Shaiva discipline, it functions like a concentrated sādhanā where devotion and right ritual channel one’s merit toward Śiva, the liberating Lord.
