śrutvā prabhostadā vākyaṃ praṇemustuṣṭuvuś ca te apyetadantare devī devamālokya vismitā
Suta Goswami (narrating; internal scene describes Devas and Devī reacting to Śiva’s words)
It highlights the core devotional sequence central to Linga-upāsanā—śravaṇa (hearing Śiva’s teaching), followed by praṇāma (submission) and stuti (praise), which purify the paśu and orient the mind toward Pati.
Śiva appears as Prabhu (Pati), whose very speech commands reverence; His presence evokes awe even in Devī, indicating transcendence that yet remains directly perceivable (darśanīya) to devotees and devas.
The verse foregrounds praṇāma and stuti—standard limbs of Śaiva pūjā—and implicitly supports Pāśupata discipline where attentive hearing of the Guru/Lord’s instruction is followed by devotional surrender.
