FAQs

It highlights how deceptive forces can mimic even trusted forms; Linga-worship is presented in the Purāṇic worldview as a stabilizing refuge where the pashu turns from भ्रम (delusion) toward Pati (Śiva) for protection and clarity.

By contrast: the piśācī embodies māyā-driven concealment and duḥkha, implying that Shiva-tattva is the liberating truth (pati) beyond disguise—granting viveka (discernment) and anugraha (grace) that cuts pāśa (bondage).

No specific rite is named in this verse, but the takeaway aligns with Pāśupata discipline: cultivate discernment (viveka), seek śiva-śaraṇāgati (refuge in Śiva), and maintain steady japa/pujā to resist fear, grief, and deceptive influences.
