应知它们由稠密之水所成,确在劫初(kalpa之始)即被造作。由于与太阳光线相接触,便被传记为自性圆满光明。
Suta Goswami (narrating the cosmological account within the Linga Purana framework)
It links creation’s first material basis (dense primordial waters) with the arising of radiance, echoing how the Linga signifies Shiva’s self-luminous Pati-tattva manifesting within the created order.
By emphasizing illumination (saṃprakāśa), it gestures toward the Shaiva Siddhanta view that consciousness/light is primary—Shiva as Pati is the revealer, making phenomena intelligible by bestowing prakāśa.
The verse supports the contemplative focus on inner light in Pashupata-oriented practice—purifying the “watery” mind-stuff so it becomes radiant through contact with the higher principle (symbolized by the Sun).
