Jyotish-chakra: Surya’s Motion and Monthly Retinues
एते देवा वसन्त्यर्के द्वौ द्वौ मासौ क्रमेण तु स्थानाभिमानिनो ह्येते गणा द्वादश सप्तकाः
ete devā vasantyarke dvau dvau māsau krameṇa tu sthānābhimānino hyete gaṇā dvādaśa saptakāḥ
这些神祇依次居于太阳之中,每两位同住两个月。彼等为各自宇宙位分的主宰之力;诚然,这便是侍从众(gaṇa)的十二个“七众”之群。
Suta Goswami (narrating the Linga Purana to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It links time (months) and cosmic governance (presiding deities in the Sun) to a disciplined sacred order, supporting the Shaiva view that worship of the Linga aligns the Pashu (soul) with dharmic rhythm under Pati (Shiva), who is the inner ruler of all devatās.
By presenting devatās as functional presiders of stations, it implies a higher sovereignty behind them—Shiva-tattva as Pati, the transcendent-immanent Lord who empowers and regulates cosmic functions while remaining beyond all limited station-identities (sthāna-abhimāna).
A time-conscious sādhana is implied: observing monthly/seasonal cycles for vrata, dāna, and Linga-pūjā, and using Pāśupata-style discipline to loosen Pāśa (bondage) by harmonizing conduct with cosmic order.
