आरण्यानां पशूनां च सिंहस्त्वं परमेश्वरः ग्राम्याणामृषभश्चासि भगवांल्लोकपूजितः
āraṇyānāṃ paśūnāṃ ca siṃhastvaṃ parameśvaraḥ grāmyāṇāmṛṣabhaścāsi bhagavāṃllokapūjitaḥ
噢,至上自在天 Parameśvara,在野兽之中你为狮王;在家畜之中你为神牛公牛(ṛṣabha)。噢,世间所礼敬的薄伽梵 Bhagavān,你安住为至上主宰 Pati——一切众生之主与护持者。

It frames Shiva as the universal Pati—lord of all pashus (beings). In Linga worship, this supports the devotee’s surrender: the Linga signifies the all-pervading Lord who protects and governs every realm of life.
Shiva-tattva is shown as sovereign mastery and protection: the lion among the wild and the bull among the tame—symbols of unrivaled power, dharma, and rulership over both untamed and ordered existence.
The verse primarily functions as stotra (praise) used in puja/japa; yogically, it reinforces Pashupata orientation—seeing all beings as pashu and meditating on Shiva as Pati, the inner controller beyond fear and bondage (pāśa).
