Adhyaya 27
tvaritenaiva rudreṇa kapinā ca kapardinā āvosajeti sāmnā tu bṛhaccandreṇa viṣṇunā

It frames Linga-centered devotion as rooted in Vedic praise (stuti): the Lord is approached through sacred sound (Sāman), establishing mantra as a primary means to invoke Pati (Shiva) for grace over the pashu (soul).
By naming Rudra as Kapi and Kapardin, the verse presents Shiva as the transcendent yet manifest Lord—ascetic (matted hair) and fiery/solar (tawny)—the Pati who can be invoked swiftly through Vedic revelation.
Vedic chant-based upāsanā: the use of a Sāman formula (“āvosaje”) as an invocation, aligning with Shaiva practice where mantra and stuti purify pasha (bondage) and orient the pashu toward Pati.
