tamuddiśya tadā brahmā namaskṛtya kṛtāñjaliḥ sraṣṭuṃ tvaśeṣaṃ bhagavāṃl labdhasaṃjñastu śaṅkarāt
Suta Goswami (narrating the Brahma–Shankara episode)
It frames creation as proceeding only after reverent surrender to Śiva (the Pati). Linga-worship mirrors this principle: action becomes fruitful when preceded by namaskāra and Śiva-anugraha.
Śiva is shown as the bestower of saṁjñā/jñāna—authoritative discernment that empowers even Brahmā’s creative function—indicating Śiva-tattva as the governing consciousness behind cosmic processes.
The verse highlights añjali and namaskāra (devotional surrender) as the preparatory discipline—akin to Pāśupata orientation—where knowledge and grace precede and purify worldly activity.
