सूत उवाच दारुको ऽसुरसम्भूतस् तपसा लब्धविक्रमः सूदयामास कालाग्निर् इव देवान्द्विजोत्तमान्
sūta uvāca dāruko 'surasambhūtas tapasā labdhavikramaḥ sūdayāmāsa kālāgnir iva devāndvijottamān
苏多说道:达鲁迦出自阿修罗族,以苦行(tapas)得大威力,遂如劫末之时的“时火”(Kālāgni)一般,开始侵扰并毁灭诸天与最尊贵的二生者。正法遭此压迫之际,众生之“缚者”paśu 被推入更深的“系缚”pāśa,直至转而归依主宰 Pati——湿婆。
Suta
It sets the crisis where dharma is threatened; such moments in the Linga Purana typically culminate in seeking Śiva as Pati and establishing His Linga as the stabilizing refuge for devas, dvijas, and all paśus.
By implying the contrast: asuric power gained by tapas can devastate the world, but only Śiva-tattva as Pati transcends Time (kāla) and restores order, turning fear and bondage into a path toward liberation.
Tapas is highlighted as a potency that must be aligned with Śaiva dharma; the narrative points toward refuge in Śiva through devotion and, contextually, Linga-oriented worship and Pāśupata discipline to overcome pāśa.
