Adhyaya 10
Suta Goswami
It teaches that true Linga-puja is strengthened by inner steadiness: the worshipper should remain free from anger and excitement, treating ordinary and prized objects with the same detachment—this purifies the pashu (soul) for Shiva’s grace.
By pointing to equanimity beyond emotional extremes, it reflects Shiva as Pati—the unwavering, impartial consciousness—toward whom the sādhaka aligns by cultivating samatva.
A core Pashupata-Yogic discipline is indicated: jitātmā-bhāva (mastery of mind and senses) expressed as samatva toward all possessions, reducing pasha (bondage) created by rāga-dveṣa (attachment and aversion).
