Related Themes: Garuda Purana: emphasis on Vishnu-nama, katha, and smarana as papa-kshaya and bhakti-siddhi
This verse states that hearing Hari’s sin-destroying discourse directly generates devotion to Vishnu and purifies accumulated pāpa.
It emphasizes inner purification through bhakti—hearing, seeing sacred signs of Hari, and repeated remembrance—presented as a practical spiritual path that counters sin and supports a higher post-death destiny.
Regularly listen to Vishnu-related scripture/discourses, seek darśana of sacred Vishnu symbols or footprints, and practice daily smaraṇa (remembrance) to strengthen devotion and ethical living.
