Lord Vishnu (as a ritual/cosmological citation within the Vishnu–Garuda dialogue)
Dosha: Pitta
Concept: Purification of mind through waters and alignment with ṛta (cosmic order) and satya (truth); recognition of creation’s ordered unfolding from tapas to cosmic structuring.
Vedantic Theme: From ritual purity to inner purity: mind (manas) is to be cleansed; cosmic order reflects a deeper intelligibility that supports dharma and contemplative insight.
Application: Use these mantras in snāna/ācamana or before major vows; reflect briefly on ṛta-satya—commit to truthful speech and orderly living as extensions of inner purification.
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Type: cosmic_region
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.217.10 (Āpo hi ṣṭhā)
This verse treats water as a purifying, protective power—invoked to cleanse external and mental impurity and to secure auspiciousness during rites (especially bathing, ācamana, and ritual purification connected with śrāddha and other observances).
It links ritual purity to a larger metaphysical frame: Ṛta and Satya arise from tapas, and the ordered cosmos (day/night, sun/moon, worlds) is established by the Creator—implying that purification aligns the practitioner with cosmic order.
Use the teaching as a discipline of cleanliness and intention: perform bathing/ācamana with a prayerful mind, cultivate truthfulness and ethical restraint, and treat purification as inner reform—not merely external washing.
