Brahmā’s Prayers to Lord Nārāyaṇa and the Lord’s Empowering Instructions for Creation
तत आत्मनि लोके च भक्तियुक्त: समाहित: । द्रष्टासि मां ततं ब्रह्यन्मयि लोकांस्त्वमात्मन: ॥ ३१ ॥
tata ātmani loke ca bhakti-yuktaḥ samāhitaḥ draṣṭāsi māṁ tataṁ brahman mayi lokāṁs tvam ātmanaḥ
噢梵天,当你在创造之业中仍以奉爱而专注入定时,你将见我在你之内,并遍满整个宇宙;你也将见到你自身、诸世界与一切众生,皆安住于我之中。
It is cited herein by the Lord that during his daytime Brahmā would see Him as Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa. He would appreciate how the Lord expanded Himself into all the calves during His childhood at Vṛndāvana, he would know how Yaśodāmayī saw all the universes and planetary systems within the mouth of Kṛṣṇa during His playful childhood pastimes, and he would also see that there are many millions of Brahmās during the appearance of Lord Kṛṣṇa in Brahmā’s daytime. But all these manifestations of the Lord, appearing everywhere in His eternal, transcendental forms, cannot be understood by anyone but the pure devotees, who are always engaged in devotional service to the Lord and are fully absorbed in the Lord. The high qualifications of Brahmā are also indicated herein.
This verse teaches that with steady concentration and bhakti, one realizes the Lord as all-pervading and perceives the entire cosmos—and oneself—resting within Him.
Brahmā was seeking guidance and empowerment for creation; the Lord instructs him that devotion and inner steadiness grant true vision of the Lord’s presence and the cosmic order within Him.
Cultivate daily devotion (hearing, chanting, prayer) with focused mindfulness; this steadiness gradually transforms perception so you act in the world while remembering the Divine presence within all.
