य: पृष्टो मुनिभि: प्राह धर्मान्नानाविदाञ्छुभान् । नृणां वर्णाश्रमाणां च सर्वभूतहित: सदा ॥ ३८ ॥
yaḥ pṛṣṭo munibhiḥ prāha dharmān nānā-vidhāñ chubhān nṛṇāṁ varṇāśramāṇāṁ ca sarva-bhūta-hitaḥ sadā
为答复诸位圣贤的提问，常怀众生利益的斯瓦扬布瓦·摩奴出于慈悲，宣说了人类一般的种种圣法（dharma），以及各阶层与住期（varṇa-āśrama）的不同善法。
