Manu Offers Devahūti to Kardama; The Sage Accepts with a Devotional Vow

圣者迈特雷亚说:如是显明皇帝种种德行与事业的光辉之后,仙人默然无言;皇帝似怀谦愧,便对他说道如下。
This verse highlights that even after displaying his royal virtues, Manu approaches the sage with modesty, showing that true leadership in the Bhagavata tradition is guided by humility before spiritual wisdom.
The narrative indicates the sage had completed his statement; Manu, respectful and slightly self-effacing, then responded—showing proper etiquette in a king’s dealings with a rishi.
After presenting your abilities or achievements, approach mentors with humility and listen carefully; let competence be balanced by modesty and respect for higher guidance.
